Lots of cool initiatives this year. First off was the WordPress Post A Day initiative to get people to start blogging. Now we have Facebook Hacker Cup
It’s an avenue for fun programming and competitions, or so it is advertised as.
I think Mark Zuckerberg is trying to recreate the recruiting scene that was in the Social Network movie. It would be awesome to take shots as you code. I have never done it personally, lest my computer start taking shots with me. However, it’s a strong test of skill and will – two most essential ingredients in the industry. I would prefer that over examinations in universities.
